We decided to go to a small castle in a town just outside of Beaune. Took a detour to go by a village. We got to a place with an amazing view of the road and all the beautiful fields. We also went through a village called Orches which had beautiful stone houses in a stunning location. Next we went to the town of Nolay. In the town we had lunch. We then drove to Chateau Rochepot. The castle was beautiful with colored tile roves as well as pretty interior design. Next we drove back to Beaune where we walked around and went to dîner at an amazing restaurant. I had a really nice veal dish with morel mushrooms. I guess I might eat more mushrooms in the future. It’s not whatever happens in France stays in France. We then went to a different place for a lava cake dessert. It was a great day.

Yesterday morning I woke up just about when Eva came to our apartment. As Soon as that happened we got ready and headed to get our car at Gare de Lyon, it took us quite a while to get out of Paris as the main road was closed down. When we got out of Paris, we headed to Fontainebleau to explore the grounds of the chateau. We jumped back into a car and headed for Beaune in burgundy. We then checked into our apartment in Beaune and got ready to head out for dinner. Beaune is a very pretty town. We went to this very nice place with a lot of different types of wine. I tried escargot for the first time as an appetizer and I got skate as my main course. After dinner we walked around town then we headed back to our apartment.
Last night we started off the night by going out for drink in Montmartre. Montmartre is uphill from everywhere. While we were out getting a drink hey man asked if he could do a portrait of me. After the portrait we walked down toward dinner — our dinner was delicious. I had slow cooked veal. Dad had razor clams. Mom was convinced we should walk home so we walked by the Beaubourg on our way Back home. It’s the modern art museum it’s really funky with lots of different shapes. It took more than an hour to walk home.
Today we headed to a department store and a train station. We ran into my sisters trip, first seeing some boys then seeing her and her friend Maisy. We went to the roof of the department store with them and then headed onto the train station. There we took the metro to a place where we could stop at a café and get something to eat and drink. I got a crepe and a Orangina. I try to eat two Nutella crepes every day. Now we’re back at the apartment and getting ready for dinner.
Well yesterday was exciting because around 11:00 in the morning we were at the Eiffel Tower and going up. We went up to the second floor. We didn’t even think about going to the top. There we could see most of the city. Then we walked to a market and got lunch. I had a great sandwich with the best bread and saucisson. Next we went down the Champs-Élysées. Finally we went back to our apartment where we got ready for dinner with some friends. We had a delicious meal and then walked to the Place des Vosges. And to the Seine, over two islands. We didn’t get home until Midnight. We passed out almost immediately. We had walked 11 miles. 25,000 steps!
When I woke up this morning I noticed that I had slept in —-a lot! We had a breakfast of baguette stuffed with bacon. And we went to the Musee d’Orsay. At museum we saw a Rousseau exhibit and some impressionists along with Van Gogh and some other amazing artists. We had a nice lunch and walked in a park. We just came from France vs Ireland game at a French bar. It was crazy.
We started our trip off with a shaky start as we got on the Dartmouth Coach in New London, the driver said that she needed to contact the terminal and as you all guessed twenty minutes later we were unpacking our coach and repacking our new one. Eventually we reached the airport and boarded our plane. Before long we were airborn all three of us got a decent amount of sleep. We arrived at Dublin 2:30am east coast time. We then did a loopety loop to find our plane. We then took a plane that had a lot of northern Ireland supporters to Paris. We smoothly found our way through the Paris and airport train systems to our apartment. After checking in to our apartment and and getting settled in it we hit the city for lunch( time then 3:10). We all had amazing lunches I had a croque Monsieur. Next we went to beautiful Sainte-Chapelle. The stained glass windows were amazing there. Finally we returned to our lovely apartment near notre dame and that is where I’m writing you from.
