We took a flight from Geneva to Dublin to spend the night and part of the day in Dublin before going back to Boston. We went out to a nice traditional dinner. I had a delicious lamb shank. Dad got us a very nice hotel and we stayed there for the night. The next day we went to the little museum of Dublin. The museum was beautiful and our tour taught me many things about Ireland that I didn’t know. We walked through Trinity College and I had bangers and mash for lunch. That was about when we had to head back and pick up our bags from my hotel. we had a little bit of trouble getting to our hotel because there is a Beyoncé concert across the street from our hotel so the road was closed. Then we grabbed our bags and headed off to the airport. We went through multiple securities but eventually got on our plane. (They checked us into the U.S. in Ireland. Our plane was rerouted to go through Greenland because of weather and other reasons so we had a beautiful view but got in later than expected. We caught the bus up to New London and by that time I was ready to pass out. This was an amazing trip!! 😃😀🌟🌟🌟🌟

The ice cream has been beat. Went to this amazing hut. First we went on a little hike down from the top of the Brevent tram. We did a lot of boot skiing on little patches of snow. Then we took a little break before taking another tram and exploring a site near mont blanc (The aiguille du midi — almost 13,000 feet high). We took the tram back down halfway and then walked 15 minutes to our hut. It was beautiful with gardens everywhere and a really cute dog. We had a small room where the four of us fit nicely. Because of mom’s food allergies she doesn’t usually get a good meal at places like this, but at this hut she ate more than the rest of us (potato soup, basque chicken, rice). When we woke up the next morning we had a nice breakfast and said goodbye to the dog. Then we walked 4.5 miles to A glacier where we looked around before taking a train back down to the valley. We’ve been resting down here for a bit but soon we’re gonna head out for dinner and watch the France Game. The hut is the best thing of the trip!! 🙂
We decided to go to Annecy instead of going to huts because we were all tired. So we all piled in the car and drove to Annecy. Annecy was beautiful. In Annecy there was a giant blue Lake. We walked all around in the pedestrian parts of Annecy. We walked along the lake and then found lunch. I had salmon tartare, it was absolutely amazing. Our waitress suggested a place with good ice cream and sorbet. We walked up to castle and then went to the ice cream place. The man gave us each samples. I wasn’t planning on having ice cream but the sample was so good that I decided to have some and so did mom and dad. I got a Nutella like flavor, called Rocher. Eva got chocolate mint, and mom and dad got raspberry sorbet. We then headed back. The ice cream is one of the stars of my trip!! We came home and then dad prepared a heavenly meal which we all appreciated gratefully — duck and turkey breast with cranberry red wine sauce. All put together this might have been the best day of the trip!!😄😃😀

We left Burgundy Friday morning and drove and drove until eventually we reach a small town that we had lunch in. We headed on to near Geneva where we met up with one of dads friends from high school. We spent a night at his house. I loved dinner and the house was beautiful. The next morning we headed into Chamonix. We checked into our apartment and explored town. We stayed at home for dinner. The next day, dad Eva and I, because mom Felt sick, went up to a hut. We got to our hut and got rid of extra weight. Then we hiked on to another hut that had a beautiful lake and Glacier like surroundings. Then we headed back to our hut. We relaxed and looked at Mont Blanc, the view was amazing. Next came dinner it was delicious, we met people from Australia and Hungary. We played a few games of cards and went to bed. The next day we continued our hike to another tram which we could take down. The hike was fun because we kept on running into people who had stayed at our hut. When we got there we took a tram up to the top of a mountain where we had a great view of Mount Blanc. We then took the tram back down and took another tram back to the valley. We then met up with mom again at the apartment and then went out for lunch. That was a sweet few days!!😀🍫🍫🍫🍫🍓

We decided to head to Dijon. We took a train from beaune station to Dijon. As soon as we arrived in Dijon we found a small park that was very pretty. Next we followed the owl trail around the city. It took us too many beautiful sites like many churches and castles. We explored the city and finally decided to go back to Beaune. We had a bit of a adventure finding a train but eventually took one back home. We rested up a bit then headed out on a drive into the countryside. We saw tons of grape fields and then headed back. Mom and Dad tested wine while Eva and I rested. when mom and Dad got back it was time to go out to dinner. The place we went to was a place we passed every day we all had very nice dinners and Eva and I had delicious desserts. All in all it was a beautiful Day!
We decided to go to a small castle in a town just outside of Beaune. Took a detour to go by a village. We got to a place with an amazing view of the road and all the beautiful fields. We also went through a village called Orches which had beautiful stone houses in a stunning location. Next we went to the town of Nolay. In the town we had lunch. We then drove to Chateau Rochepot. The castle was beautiful with colored tile roves as well as pretty interior design. Next we drove back to Beaune where we walked around and went to dîner at an amazing restaurant. I had a really nice veal dish with morel mushrooms. I guess I might eat more mushrooms in the future. It’s not whatever happens in France stays in France. We then went to a different place for a lava cake dessert. It was a great day.
Yesterday morning I woke up just about when Eva came to our apartment. As Soon as that happened we got ready and headed to get our car at Gare de Lyon, it took us quite a while to get out of Paris as the main road was closed down. When we got out of Paris, we headed to Fontainebleau to explore the grounds of the chateau. We jumped back into a car and headed for Beaune in burgundy. We then checked into our apartment in Beaune and got ready to head out for dinner. Beaune is a very pretty town. We went to this very nice place with a lot of different types of wine. I tried escargot for the first time as an appetizer and I got skate as my main course. After dinner we walked around town then we headed back to our apartment.
Last night we started off the night by going out for drink in Montmartre. Montmartre is uphill from everywhere. While we were out getting a drink hey man asked if he could do a portrait of me. After the portrait we walked down toward dinner — our dinner was delicious. I had slow cooked veal. Dad had razor clams. Mom was convinced we should walk home so we walked by the Beaubourg on our way Back home. It’s the modern art museum it’s really funky with lots of different shapes. It took more than an hour to walk home.
Today we headed to a department store and a train station. We ran into my sisters trip, first seeing some boys then seeing her and her friend Maisy. We went to the roof of the department store with them and then headed onto the train station. There we took the metro to a place where we could stop at a café and get something to eat and drink. I got a crepe and a Orangina. I try to eat two Nutella crepes every day. Now we’re back at the apartment and getting ready for dinner.
Well yesterday was exciting because around 11:00 in the morning we were at the Eiffel Tower and going up. We went up to the second floor. We didn’t even think about going to the top. There we could see most of the city. Then we walked to a market and got lunch. I had a great sandwich with the best bread and saucisson. Next we went down the Champs-Élysées. Finally we went back to our apartment where we got ready for dinner with some friends. We had a delicious meal and then walked to the Place des Vosges. And to the Seine, over two islands. We didn’t get home until Midnight. We passed out almost immediately. We had walked 11 miles. 25,000 steps!
When I woke up this morning I noticed that I had slept in —-a lot! We had a breakfast of baguette stuffed with bacon. And we went to the Musee d’Orsay. At museum we saw a Rousseau exhibit and some impressionists along with Van Gogh and some other amazing artists. We had a nice lunch and walked in a park. We just came from France vs Ireland game at a French bar. It was crazy.
We started our trip off with a shaky start as we got on the Dartmouth Coach in New London, the driver said that she needed to contact the terminal and as you all guessed twenty minutes later we were unpacking our coach and repacking our new one. Eventually we reached the airport and boarded our plane. Before long we were airborn all three of us got a decent amount of sleep. We arrived at Dublin 2:30am east coast time. We then did a loopety loop to find our plane. We then took a plane that had a lot of northern Ireland supporters to Paris. We smoothly found our way through the Paris and airport train systems to our apartment. After checking in to our apartment and and getting settled in it we hit the city for lunch( time then 3:10). We all had amazing lunches I had a croque Monsieur. Next we went to beautiful Sainte-Chapelle. The stained glass windows were amazing there. Finally we returned to our lovely apartment near notre dame and that is where I’m writing you from.
Later,
